COVID - 19 Your Solitude, Your Isolation – By Simon Makanjuola

The emergence of Corona Virus (also known as COVID - 19) has brought us to a situation whereby different questions burns and lingers in our hearts, waiting for an appropriate answer.

In a time like this, we are reminded of how fragile life can be and that our moments on earth are like a warm breath of air that is visible in the cold only for a moment and then vanishes.

James 4:14 The Passion Translation

In recent weeks what was permeating the airways was that this Pandemic disease ( COVID - 19 ) is spreading and travel bans are happening but this week it's all about social distancing and isolation (being by yourself). What could this mean?

Solitude implies a condition of being apart from all human beings or of being cut off by wish or circumstances from one's usual associates.

Isolation stresses detachment from others often involuntarily. Isolation is forced upon you.  Isolation is often forced upon us by circumstance. Isolation is a result of people rejecting solitude.

When the people of God have NOT chosen to spend time with God, He then does something so radical in the earth to get a people alone with Him so that He could visit them. He has to resort to isolation to get us in the place of prayer.

God controls who should live and who should die as a result of a sickness or disease. When God sent the plagues to Egypt, God allowed the diseases and plagues to affect only the Egyptians whilst protecting the Israelite from being contaminated or infected. This reveals that God is in complete control of all things and that nothing good or bad happens without God’s knowledge or sovereign will.

What if God is using this season to initiate a global move upon the earth to say "May I Have Your Attention”?

I may shut the sky so that there is no rain,

or command grasshoppers to devour the countryside,

or send an epidemic among my people.

However, if my people, who are called by my name,

will humble themselves,

pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways,

then I will hear their prayer from heaven, forgive their sins,

and heal their country.

2nd Chronicles 7: 13 - 14.

God can use disease and pandemics such as the Corona virus to bring us into a state of humility and repentance. God can use sickness to change our perspectives and Vista about life so that we turn to God instead of the temporary things of life that can never satisfy us.

Just like Jacob in the Bible, The purpose of the conflict was for God to get ALONE with Jacob so that God could do something that could radically change Jacob's identity. God was tired of Jacob doing things in his own strength.

When did God come? When Jacob was all ALONE.

The truth still stands that there are certain things that God will only do in you in private. So, He will place you in a situation and a moment to get you alone, by yourself, to change your identity and birth out of you what He desires

God's visitation did not happen until Jacob was alone. God wants to use this moment of isolation that corona virus is forcing us into to give us a Jacob-like encounter that changes our identities and births something in us that changes the nations of the earth.

God is inviting us into a divine wrestling match where we must come face to face with God where He begins to deal with the things in us that prevent us from being Israel. Jacob birthed sons. Israel birthed nations.

The present pandemic is revealing that we can survive without many of our luxuries. Restaurants are closed, forcing us to cook at home. Mega Churches have closed their doors, so we must pray and worship with just our family or a small group of friends.

Could I suggest to you that this time of isolation or social distancing is God's intent to get us alone so He could come and visit us?

It would be a shame for you to emerge out of this time of isolation and your prayer life, your revelation of God hadn't deepened. It would be a shame for you to have completed a bunch of Netflix season but not gotten a revelation of who God is how pathetic.

No Movies. No Concerts. No Sporting Events. No Restaurants. No Social Gathering. Limited Workload. Now that I've cleared your schedule can we talk now? - GOD

It would be a shame for you to emerge out of this season WITHOUT a New Normal You!!!

You are loved...
